  • What is de-icing? Deicing is the process of ensuring the safe operation of an aircraft by removing ice from the aircraft’s body and wings during winter season and applying a special solution to prevent additional ice formation during flight.
  • What is Smart de-icing system?
    • To use an aircraft detection and tracking algorithm (utilizing LIDAR and thermal imaging cameras) to accurately identify the type of aircraft entering the deicing pad displays approach information, such as remaining stopping distance and lateral deviation signals, on the visual information display, facilitating the aircraft’s entry into the deicing pad.
    • To centralize all the information required for aircraft deicing into an integrated management server through the airport system to automatic deicing process, ensuring large-capacity information transmission and ease of operation.
    • To provide real-time deicing information to the Electric Message Board (EMB) and Information Input Client (IPC) to prevent communication errors between pilots, apron controllers, and deicing operators.
